orbitgreen: certified fabrics
Baby-safe from the Start
Your baby will spend hours sitting in a car seat and stroller. It’s where they will nap, spill, and see the world. That’s why we have obsessed over fabric choices in our core products since day one. As parents, we understand the importance of the fabrics that touch your baby’s skin every day. Orbit Baby is proud to source fabrics that are independently tested and certified to be free of numerous harmful substances.
Focused On Cutting Chemicals, Not Corners
We work with fabric mills certified to the international Oeko-Tex® Standard 100. This standard tests for and restricts numerous harmful substances such as pesticides, phthalates, and VOC emissions plus many known allergy-inducing and skin-irritating chemicals for babies. It costs a little more, but it’s important to us and we know that it’s important to you as well.
Safer Flame Retardants
For those Orbit Baby products that must meet state and federal requirements for flammability, we insist on the use of halogen-free compounds to restrict chemicals of concern like brominated and chlorinated fire retardants.
By always striving for cleaner products, we also hope to contribute to a cleaner environment. Sourcing Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 textiles keeps substances like formaldehyde, heavy metals, and harmful dyes out of our product waste and therefore our soil, groundwater, and air.
Meeting multiple international regulations helps elevate Orbit Baby’s chemical safety standards to higher levels. In addition to sourcing Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 textiles, our products are tested by independent, accredited laboratories for adherence to various U.S. and international standards.
